Robin Leonard

Robin lives and works in Cornwall. He paints pleinair the year round.
Robin has developed his own language of abstract impressions of what he sees. His work is an interpretation, through his reaction and marks of paint he implies the landscape rather than copies it.
His loose, joyous, use of paint initially look abstract but on further study it is your eye that is re- educated to what you’re looking at and more is revealed, you can make out the distant shoreline or the rocky cliffs, a boat or mast.
On close inspection an abstract, indulgent use of paint - from a distance the whole scene unveils itself.
