Samuel Hencher

Samuel was born in Newcastle, spending much of his youth in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. He studied at the Florence Academy and featured as a finalist on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year in 2018.

Samuel paints cityscapes and landscapes, letting the light be his main focus. Using classical themes he brings a modern contemporary and fresh feel to the work, painting quickly in his studio from sketches worked in situ and from memory. He lives with his family in Berlin dividing his time as a Commercials Director and a professional artist. He has exhibited in London at the Saatchi Other Art Fair and has had a solo show in Birmingham.
